Originally formed in 1998, as the Alberta Hospital Edmonton Foundation, the Mental Health Foundation (MHF) was founded on the ideal of transforming care for mental health and addictions in Edmonton by building resilient organizations and communities.
The original founders believed that with advocacy and monetary support from donors, the lives of individuals requiring mental health and addictions care could improve. They saw the potential of patients to live happier, healthier lives if they had access to the appropriate resources.
